Dr. Tatiana Shustova earned her degree from the Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory in Saint Petersburg, where she studied with Yaroslav Pugach. After moving to the United States in 2005, she completed both the Artist’s Certificate Program and a Master’s degree in piano performance at Bowling Green State University, studying with Maxim Mogilevsky and Dr. Robert Satterlee. During her time there, she won first prize in the 40th Annual Concerto Competition. In 2008, Dr. Shustova was awarded a fellowship to pursue her Doctor of Musical Arts in piano performance at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign under Dr. Ian Hobson, earning her degree in 2013.

She has appeared at numerous festivals in the U.S. and Europe, including Interlochen Summer Arts Camp, Illinois Summer Youth Music, Bowling Green Music Institute, Toradze Piano Institute (Indiana), Ionian Summer Music Academy (Greece), Les Orres International Summer Academy (France), Suomussalmi Music Festival (Finland), Musica Atri, Scuola Italia, Russian Music Festival (Perugia), and Orfeo Music Festival (Italy). She is a prizewinner in multiple solo and chamber competitions and has served as a collaborative pianist at Mussorgsky State College in Saint Petersburg, Bowling Green State University, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and Bradley University.

Currently a faculty lecturer at the University of New Mexico, Dr. Shustova previously taught at Millikin University. She is also the founder of the Chambana International Music Competition. Her debut recording—featuring Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet, Op. 75, and Sibelius’s The Trees, Op. 75—was released on Centaur Records in January 2024.
