Woodwind

Our Program Concentrations

The Woodwind Area at The University of New Mexico is known for recruiting talented student musicians of the highest standard from across the United States.

The artist woodwind faculty provides individualized instruction to prepare students for professional ensembles, symphony orchestras, military service bands, public and higher education, or graduate education at conservatories or schools of music. The faculty focuses on both performance and music education with similar and successful methodologies and philosophies.

Students participate in studio classes and recitals, guest artist master classes, lectures and recitals, and chamber music recitals. These opportunities compliment the outstanding band, jazz band, and orchestra programs that UNM offers. Courses include private applied lessons, chamber music coaching, and instrumental pedagogy and repertoire.
