UNM to Host “Organ Plus” Concert in Partnership with American Guild of Organists

The University of New Mexico Department of Music will partner with the American Guild of Organists, Albuquerque Chapter, to present Organ Plus, a special concert event at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026, in Keller Hall at the UNM Center for the Arts.

The performance will showcase the versatility and grandeur of the pipe organ alongside a chamber orchestra, highlighting both historic repertoire and contemporary works. The concert features four distinguished New Mexico organists—Edmund Connolly, Stephen Brodsky-Montoya, David Solem, and Maxine Thévenot—as well as composers Frederick Frahm and James Albert Yeager.

Joining the ensemble is soprano and UNM Alum Jordyn Tatum, who will perform two Bible Songs by Charles Villiers Stanford. The concert will be conducted by Matthew Greer, leading a string chamber orchestra in collaboration with the Keller Hall Holtkamp organ.

The program spans four centuries of repertoire, featuring works by Arcangelo Corelli, Michel Corrette, Alec Rowley, and Daniel Pinkham. The evening also highlights a world premiere, San Miguel Chapel by Frederick Frahm, alongside a recent composition, Birches for Organ and Strings by James Albert Yeager.

At the center of the performance is the Keller Hall Holtkamp organ, an instrument of remarkable tonal breadth that will serve as the concert’s focal point.
