Paula Corbin Swalin, Soprano, received her Master of Music in Vocal Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music. In 2006 she was chosen for the prestigious National Association of Teachers of Singing Teacher Intern Program. Recent performances include serving as soprano soloist in C.P.E. Bach's Magnificat, Mendelssohn's Elijah, Vivaldi's Gloria, Mozart's C Minor Mass, and the Mozart Requiem. In addition, Ms. Corbin Swalin has performed for the Music at St. John's Series (St. John's United Methodist Church, Albuquerque) in concerts entitled "Brahms for Dummies" and "Composers 101: Copland" and the Thursday Evening Musicale Series at St. John's in 2008, 2009 and 2010. She has also sung for the NMSOC, Eastman's Musica Nova Ensemble, and Canticum Novum.
A teacher at heart, Ms. Corbin Swalin maintains an active private studio, as well as teaching Applied Voice, Vocal Repertory and Music Appreciation at UNM. An advocate of technology in the voice studio, Ms. Corbin Swalin utilizes recording and voice analysis software (Voce Vista and VoicePrint) to enhance student learning. She has produced several recordings for students, as well as for the New Mexico All State Choirs. Ms. Corbin Swalin is the Vice-President and an active member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, Rio Grande Chapter. She is blessed to be a member of a talented musical family residing in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
