Glenn Kostur is Director of Jazz Studies at the University of New Mexico. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of North Texas and a Master of Music degree from DePaul University. For three years he was saxophonist, arranger, and musical director for Maynard Ferguson. In addition to three recordings with the Ferguson band, he can be heard on recordings with the Frank Mantooth Jazz Orchestra, the Dallas Jazz Orchestra, and Chicago’s Jazz Members Big Band. Mr. Kostur has also performed with Louie Bellson, Tony Bennett, and the Woody Herman Orchestra, among others. He is active as a clinician and adjudicator at jazz festivals throughout the country, and is currently serving as president of the New Mexico chapter of the International Association of Jazz Educators.
