Louise Bass has spent extensive time in Paris, studying 20th-century French literature with internationally known organist Susan Landale. While working in Europe, she appeared as a guest artist at the prestigious Tuscia Music Festival in Viterbo, Italy, playing concerts of Baroque music with French violinist Bernard Zinck.
Ms. Bass is a frequent artist-in-residence with the Piedmont College Choir in Georgia and travels as an accompanist for instrumental and vocal musicians throughout the country. She has performed for the organ recital series at the Cathedral of St. Philip in Atlanta and the historic St. James Cathedral in Chicago and has been a solo performer for the American Guild of Organists. Ms. Bass attended Oklahoma City University and Indiana University, studying with Dr. Wilma Jensen. While at Indiana University, she was a finalist in the Ottumwa, Iowa National Organ Competition.
Ms. Bass has recorded for Kjos Music, the Cathedral of St. John, and the University of New Mexico. A longtime church musician, she served as the Associate Organist-Choir Director at the Cathedral of St. John prior to her appointment at the university. Currently she serves as Adjunct Instructor of Music at the University of New Mexico, assisting Bradley Ellingboe, Director of Choral Activities.
