Marimba Band Photos
The UNM Marimba Band is an extremely active ensemble in the music department.
Students in marimba band perform traditional marimba literature from Mexico and Guatemala as
well as the xylophone ragtime literature of George Hamilton Green.
In addition to performing one concert each semester in Keller Hall on the UNM campus,
this group performs throughout New Mexico for various events.
The group performs each year for the New Mexico state legislature, the UNM commencement reception,
and at the New Mexico State Fair. The band has performed at the Albuquerque Bravos Awards Ceremony,
UNM Prep Schools Allegretto Series, the New Mexico Music Educators Association All-State Music Conference,
the Santa Fe Chamber Music Society\u2019s Music in our Schools program, and most recently was a
featured group at the 2003 Colorado/Percussive Arts Society State Day of Percussion in Loveland, CO.
