ARTS-IN-MEDICINE

This innovative program seeks to transform the medical environment towards optimum healing by facilitating transformative, educational and rejuvenating artistic and creative encounters for patients, their families and professional caregivers throughout UNM Hospitals (UNMH) and the community-at-large.

VOCAL ARTISTRY ART SONG COMPETITION

Established in 2008 in conjunction with the UNM College of Fine Arts to encourage through compeition the further study of art song repertoire.

programs for youth:

Student interns who are currently studying String Pedagogy at UNM teach young students in a supervised lab teaching program for the UNM Music Prep School.

The UNM Children's Chorus is a non-auditioned chorus for boys and girls in grades K-8 in the Albuquerque metropolitan area.

The Prep School's course offerings are designed to support and supplement the efforts of school music programs and private music teachers, and to bring music to children who might never have had the chance to study music.

The Youth Band was initiated to give the finest high school students an ongoing, high quality musical experience to supplement their school band instruction. The ensemble is open by audition to students in grades 9 through 12.
