MATERIALS NEEDED: Bachelor of Arts and Music Minor

The percussion field is vast, thus requiring a need for an extensive amount of mallets and instruments. It must be understood that the list of mallets and books below will provide you with only the minimum amount of material needed for study in the percussion studio for the first semester.

As you develop as a player and as you start performing more solo literature, it will be necessary for you to purchase additional mallets, instruments, method books and sheet music. I highly recommend you talk to me about the equipment you are going to purchase before you purchase it. If you already have some sticks and mallets let me know what they are so that we can modify the list to best suit you needs. Throughout your studies at UNM, you will be required to purchase all music that you are playing for your lessons and juries.
