SCHOLARSHIPS AND ASSISTANTSHIPS FOR TUBA/EUPHONIUM STUDENTS

Financial help is available for undergraduate and graduate students wishing to pursue a degree in music or just participate in an ensemble as a non-music major. Both music and academic scholarships are available.

Undergraduate Music Scholarships:

  • Performance based scholarships are available to students wishing to pursue a degree in music performance or education.
  • Music Education scholarships are available to students wishing to pursue a degree in music education.
  • Jazz Performance based scholarships are available to students wishing to pursue a Performance degree with an emphasis in jazz.
  • Marching Band awards are given to all students who wish to participate in the UNM Spirit Marching Band. These awards do not require an audition.
  • Sound Pack awards are available to students wishing to play in the Lobo Basketball Band. Students must audition for this at the end of the fall semester and are paid a stipend for every game they play.

band and orchestra Scholarships:

Band and Orchestra tuition scholarships are available for qualified students. Please contact Susan Brake at 505-277-8998 or sbrake@unm.edu to set up an audition time.

Graduate AssistantshipS:

One graduate assistantship is available in Tuba/Euphonium at the University of New Mexico.

Students interested in applying for the graduate assistant position are required to send a resume including any teaching and/or performing experience, a repertoire list, and an audio tape containing 30 minutes of your most recent performance.
