The Bachelor of Music Education Instrumental Concentration comprises a total of 138-139 hours (138 hours for emphasis in strings; 139 hours for emphasis in winds, percussion, piano or guitar).

Students pursuing the Bachelor of Music Instrumental Concentration will be required to pass a piano proficiency. See Piano Proficiency Requirements (PDF, 100KB) for details.
transfer students
All transfer students will be given a placement exam in theory, ear-training and sight-singing for the purpose of determining competency in theses areas. If test results reveal deficiencies, transfer students will be required to remove such by enrolling in and successfully completing one or more semesters of the theory curriculum.
